Douglas Davenport
C. Douglas Davenport, who has 33 years of investment-management experience, is the editor of Money and Markets’ All-Weather Investor and Inflation Survival Strategy services.
Doug uses a technical-analytical strategy developed with Sir John Templeton, the late founder of the Templeton family of mutual funds, to manage clients’ money. He is president and chief investment officer of Davenport Investment Management LLC, an investment firm that manages portfolios for high-net-worth clients in Atlanta.
As manager of Templeton’s Wisdom Fund from 1998 to 2009, Doug outperformed the benchmark S&P 500 and earned a 5-star Morningstar rating for 10 of his 11 years at the helm. In 2006, Sir John Templeton tapped him to help develop and manage a strategy for managing a model portfolio of exchange traded funds (ETFs). The strategy employs a proprietary set of technical timing tools that give investors exposure to major asset classes: Stocks, gold, oil and currencies.
Doug is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and a cum laude graduate of the John Marshall School of Law.
He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and Fiduciary Law and Elder Law Sections of the State Bar, and has served on the Finance Committee of the State Bar of Georgia since 2011.
Doug serves on the Board of Governors of the University of Tennessee, and is a past president of the University of Tennessee’s Atlanta Alumni Association.
