Weiss Ratings Upgrades 12 Life & Annuity Insurers; Downgrades 10

JUPITER, Florida (January 30, 2013)—Weiss Ratings upgraded the financial strength ratings of 12 life and annuity insurance companies and downgraded 10 based on its analysis of third quarter 2012 results. Weiss, the nation’s leading independent provider of bank, credit union and insurance company ratings, analyzed 823 life and annuity insurers.

Weiss Ratings Scale: A=Excellent, B=Good, C=Fair, D=Weak, E=Very Weak
Plus sign = top of grade range; minus sign = bottom of grade range

To ensure the safety of their investments, Weiss Ratings recommends that consumers do business with insurance companies rated B+ or higher. Currently, 119 life and annuity insurers, or 14.5 percent, are rated B+ or higher, meriting inclusion on the Weiss Recommended List.

Weiss encourages consumers to visit its lists of strongest and weakest life and annuity insurers.

I have found the highest income with safety using Weiss’s bank ratings. So now I have safety with good income. Took a bunch of work on my part to find the best cd rate in America, usually higher rates mean a come on situation where they will immediately lower rates once you signup at the bank but I haven’t really had that trouble. I know the banks are safe and doing very well thank you.
