Money and Markets: Investing Insights

A Quick Preview of What’s Ahead

Martin D. Weiss, Ph.D. | Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 7:30 am

Martin Weiss

Martin here with a quick preview of what’s ahead. Tomorrow I’m off for a long-overdue vacation. But I leave you in very good hands …

Larry Edelson will be here each Monday with his latest update on gold and silver. For months, he’s been consistently warning investors of further declines, insisting that they wait for the right moment to buy. And rightfully so! But now I suspect all that is about to change as gold finally touches a true, long-term bottom. Stand by!

Money and Markets tech expert Jon Markman will be here on Tuesdays — to zero in on opportunities in technology. And like Larry, he’s also no permabull. In fact, for the last several months, he’s been telling his readers to expect a tech-stock correction in early to mid-April.

His own words: “One key to success is never to chase the price, always waiting for it to come to you. After almost every IPO, once the hype has died down, the stock can fall 50% or more. IPO chasers get some of the worst prices, patient late-comers get some of the best bargains. Similarly, it’s always nice to wait for the kind of correction we’re now witnessing.”

My favorite money manager, Bill Hall, will give you a Big Picture perspective of the market’s ups and downs. His portfolio has been growing nicely through thick and thin. And it’s precisely because he doesn’t sweat the small stuff.

On Thursdays, it’s Charles Goyette’s turn, connecting the dots from the shenanigans still raging in Washington to the dangers and opportunities on Wall Street. While the market has been marching higher, many investors are forgetting about those dangers. Big mistake, says Charles.

Mike Larson’s Friday insights about the Fed and interest rates are especially important. Why? Because the interest-rate markets are the largest in the world, directly impacting $59 trillion in interest-bearing debts in the U.S. alone — not to mention $185 trillion in interest-rate derivatives. Some investors may be ignoring the interest-rate markets right now. But Mike isn’t, and nor should you.

In the afternoons, you’ll get timely afternoon updates from all of these gentlemen along with insights from Don Lucek, Mike Burnick and guest editors.

Plus, for the next three Saturday’s Jon Markman will take my regular column. His story is one you must follow; and with many stocks in a correction phase, the timing couldn’t be better.

I’ll be back in early May. Until then, good luck and God bless!

Martin
