The war cycles continue to ramp-up across the globe. And this latest wave of geopolitical unrest continues to rise at an unsettling pace. Just like my mentor and friend, Larry Edelson, predicted.
Long before Larry passed away early this year, he wrote about these cycles. How they are accelerating and coming together in a way not seen since the late 1800s. And how they are likely to increase in intensity each and every year all the way into late 2020.
Europe almost perfectly embodies everything Larry predicted. It certainly has not escaped the geopolitical problems engulfing the world. Lately, it seems like it’s enduring more than its fair share.
The main reason — the European Union’s loose policies toward legal immigration. And a new influx of economic and war refugees is being associated with a rising number of deadly terrorist attacks.
Now, I’m not saying that all migrants or refugees are terrorists or that they even have the potential to become one. My point is simply that the EU’s immigration policies make it easier for a potential terrorist to cross EU borders by posing as a migrant.
Just last week, Barcelona, Spain, was one of the latest cities to experience a terrorist attack. A van in La Rambla Square mowed down pedestrians, leaving 13 dead and more than 100 injured.
Then in Turku, Finland, migrants seeking asylum stabbed 10 people, killing two. This happened after one of the suspects found out his status had been turned down.
And these are just the most-recent headlines. The European refugee situation is clearly out of control. And will most likely only get worse before it gets better.
Is the European Union’s immigration policy destroying its unity? You bet.
Cash-strapped … and, in many cases, near-bankrupt … countries in southern Europe are paying a huge price for the EU’s loose immigration policies. And this has led to growing conflict throughout Europe.
The South’s eastern counterparts (Poland and Hungary) are flat out refusing to take in refugees. The move has sparked hostility among other EU members, with some leaders calling for sanctions against the countries who refuse to open their borders.
Take Italy, for example. The country is the poster child for the looming sovereign-debt crisis. It recently saw a record surge in refugees from North Africa. Italy has accepted nearly 100,000 refugees in the first six months of the year. And I expect that number to rise.
And not surprisingly, Italy has the lowest capacity to absorb migrants among the major EU economies. That’s according to a new report published by Goldman Sachs.
From the indicators Goldman uses, Italy appears to be the least economically and socially integrated of all the EU bloc countries. These findings are noteworthy considering both this year’s surge in trans-Mediterranean migration to Italy and the country’s dire public-finance situation.
And when Italy can no longer handle the load, I expect other cash-strapped EU nations to take the overflow, including Spain and Greece.

A flood of refugees has stressed the EU to the breaking point. |
And let’s not forget about the election next year that could change the landscape once again …
Italy’s migration crisis will be a central issue when the country goes to the polls next May. Italians are growing resentful of how economic hardships have been amplified by the influx of immigrants. All of which could lead to a rise in nationalism.
The bottom line: Italy and other over-indebted EU countries are being pushed to their financial limits. They cannot possibly survive with this burden alone, as money for their own citizens must now be diverted to the refugees. All the while, the fat cats in Brussels refuse any monetary support.
I expect the migration from North Africa and the Middle East into Europe will not only continue but also to intensify.
This will cause both economic and social harm to the European Union. And over the next few years, I expect the situation to get worse. Indeed, this could be one of the catalysts that ultimately breaks apart the union.
As the European Union becomes engulfed in the migrant crisis, the region’s debt problems with come to a head – leading to a terrific buying opportunity for U.S. equities as we will see money flows leave Europe and head across the Atlantic to U.S. shores.
Best wishes,
David Dutkewych

Larry Edelson predicted the war cycles and he was and is correct. Add how these cycles change the world we live in. We must not abandon our trust and dependence upon God to remain strong knowing God is still our God. I am a person that studies history and how it applies today. Gold is the measure of wealth. Silver is the median of trade. Rulers and governments give us laws and taxes but seldom use God’s laws for moral values.
The countries that allow these illegals to invade their countries are absolutely crazy. It’s no different than agreeing to let hundreds of people to live in your house..
I makes no sense for Europe to keep accepting immigrants with open boarders. Thank God the USA is at least trying to get a handle on this problem. Europe can not financially support immigration as is without bankrupting it’s citizens. Is Europe lost already?
PROPHECY IN THE MAKING ?
A well known Rabbi in Spain reportedly told his congregation recently to pack their bags and leave Europe and immigrate to Israel. ( I never thought this would cause mass immigration to Israel and the resultant political-religious issues this will inflame as Israel is forced to settle more lands in Palestine and other neighboring areas to accommodate a wave of new immigrants. Further displacing existing Arab or Palestinian inhabitants (squatters) may just be Bible Prophecy in the Making. Who would have thought the European “Refugee” Crisis would become the trigger ? Many more conflicts in the Middle East ahead. Many more.
The Spanish Rabbi also said Europe is “finished” and will eventually be dominated by Muslims. No Jew wants to live with that, so he advised them not to wait too long but to get out of Europe early while they can. Memories of hard lessons in the early Thirties when many Jewish Germans thought Hitler was a “nut” who would never gain power. Little did they know. It could happen to all of Europe in the future, so getting “Out of Dodge” now makes eminent sense for survival’s sake. Turns out that similar (false) accusations in the U.S. by the liars and deceivers towards President Trump are coming from those who are NOT among the blessed nor the saved. (Try the cursed ?).

Can you answer the following question.. Whats the cost of facilitating the poor migrants who through no fault of their own are left homeless and hungry.. While it might be causing problems via the radicals that are in the minority the cost to the EU as a percentage of GNP I would assume is very small..
I do think there is a need for tighter controls at the borders, but I dont agree that we should forsake these people needing a safe refuge.

Is it Europe’s fault that the Mid East is run by idiots? Why should Europe pay the price for this? Instead, arm them and train them to fight against the dictators in their own countries.
This is not crisis , this war with our civilization – to be or not to be.
Poland & Hungary are Wise to Stop the immigrants coming in there.
I believe things are too far gone to save Europe now ( I can see Civil war coming in the next few years – more & more negatives are being added to this Crazy Equation!) It’s a crying shame that places like Gotenberg, Sweden & Finland are being trashed. I was based in a lot of these countries from 1991-2005 and can’t believe what they are like now!
True in every sense of the word, except that money-flow into U.S. shores would come up against growing problems of civil unrest, where a default would cause the dollar to plunge along with US stocks which have been held up by company buy-backs, made affordable by low interest rates for too long. Then there is the Chinese puzzle, where defaults may soon become apparent, and they will have to sell US bonds to balance the books. An interest-rate war will produce an unclear fallout, as a long Kondratieff Winter approaches!
This valuable article has not made one major distinction – between those who are refugees (fleeing war and persecution) and migrants (those seeking a better way of life). Refugees should be accepted. Migrants should be assessed and, if not a help to a receiving country, returned to their country of origin.
I can only hope that our Canadian Prime Minister reads these articles.
Thank God the U.S. has Donald Trump at the helm.
Why is the Euro so high compared to the dollar?
Let the Countries in The Middle East take in these refugees themselves. Perhaps the
European Unit together can allocate a certain amount of money to the region, as a group
Remember CHARITY ALWAYS STARTS AT HOME. Your Citizens are paying for this,
they should be first.
That happens because we occidentals believe now we have crossed the line of goodness. We are gooder, best than the same God. Stop dreaming and put order in your own countries.
Let’s take into account that the leaders won’t have problems with immigration as they don’t come eve closer to this phenomena, but regular people do. So let’s stop them.
As soon as the world divided in countries, hold a territory, created flag designs and even hymns, specific DNA countries were formed. That will never leave those brains wherever they go. Ask anyone living outside its country; what they wonder the most and they will say MY native country of course. So stay there and make your country the one you want to live in. Half the world makes miserable the other half, why?
Why do you think Trump is willing to shut down the Federal Government if Congress don’t get on board regarding the Border Wall? If we don’t build it they will come. And we aren’t just talking about Mexicans. They cross the ocean, land somewhere in Central America and work their way up to the border and find a way to cross. Next thing you know we (US) will be in the same boat as the European Union and Italy.
Once it happens it will be too late to fix it. Building the Wall now will be a cheaper fix then waiting till we are in the same boat as Italy.
Use your Common Sense.
Not all the immigrants are terrorists but all terrorists are immigrants. Very simple equation. Up to you to decide the results.!
.
I just finished the article including all replies, I have seen how applying a just and some common sense that most of human kind was blessed with, would bring some welcomed solutions. rememberimg the Hitler world aggravation is sufficient to start coming to grips, for those have some knowledge of the Bible old and new know how things happened in the past DISOBEDIENCE and turning away. Remember there were PROFETS then and profets today. Let us BEWARE,.So I end with at least this proposal LOVE THY neighbor as thy self and not with survival of the fittest.
Instead of taking in refugees and allowing their cultures to be changed forever (or be accused of racism), the EU should instead just send money to Malta & Turkey to maintain refugee camps until Syria is stabilized.
