Foreclosures eased last month in South Florida and across the nation because of more aggressive loan modification programs and holiday moratoriums introduced by some lenders, RealtyTrac reported today.
In Broward County, 6,801 people were in some stage of foreclosure last month. That’s a slight decline from October but up from 4,157 a year ago.
In Palm Beach County, 2,622 people were in the foreclosure process in November. That’s also down from October but an increase from 1,906 a year ago.
Nationwide, more than 259,000 homes received at least one foreclosure-related notice in November, down 7 percent from October but 28 percent higher than a year ago.
