Money and Markets’ Weekly Wrap

The Money and Markets Team | Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 8:30 am

What follows is Money and Markets’ weekly wrap-up with links to articles written by its investment-newsletter editors from Nov. 4-8.

Larry Edelson listed five simple reasons why the so-called super cycle in commodities isn’t over yet.

Douglas Davenport turned to the bond market to find out if the stock-market rally may end – he compared the two markets using technical analysis. In Dead Man Walking: the United States of America, Doug lamented the sad state of the economy.

John Ross Crooks III shared his views on the European crisis and the role of Germany in resolving it. He also compared the achievements and failures of the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy, and came away with a pessimistic conclusion.

What movie character do you associate with Ben Bernanke? Bill Hall compared the Fed chairman to Jessup from “A Few Good Men” and argued that Bernanke must hide the truth to do his job.

Holiday shopping is approaching – Thanksgiving, Christmas. Analysts on the Money and Markets Team broke down what it might mean for growth this year.

Mike Burnick published the second of three articles on the catalysts of the stock-market rally.

And Mike Larson concluded that there is no economic justification for the Fed’s current aggressive monetary policy.

Best wishes,

The Money and Markets Team
