Burger King is reported to be in talks to buy the Canadian coffee and donut company Tim Horton’s, which would allow Burger King to domicile itself for tax purposes in Canada. A flurry of these tax inversion deals have the Obama administration asking Congress to pass laws to prohibit companies from moving. Instead it should be asking Congress to reconsider extortionate U.S. tax rates.
