The January jobless rate will be reported Friday, giving insight into the health of the economy. The rate fell to 6.7 percent in December, the lowest level since 2008. But that was mainly because more people dropped out of the market, and analysts don’t expect that number to hold.
Company earnings reports continue this week, with health insurers including Aetna, Humana and Cigna expected to post profits. Internet-based companies Twitter and Yelp are likely to post losses.
